A property in Brize Norton has been ‘closed’ after reports of antisocial behaviour and a recent homicide.

On Thursday (January 26) police based at Witney station successfully applied for a closure order for an address in Brize Norton.

This came after reports of antisocial behaviour and more recently a homicide at the address.

The order -which serves to protect the local community – expires in April, and only the occupier can enter the address.

Police also applied to the courts earlier this month for a closure order for a property in Oxford after an increase in incidents of antisocial behaviour.

This led to a three-month partial closure order for a premises in Wytham Street, Oxford.

Closure powers allow the local authority or police to quickly close premises which are being used, or likely to be used, to commit nuisance or disorder.
