Police swooped on a property in Blackbird Leys on Wednesday, Thames Valley Police confirmed.

Armed officers could still be seen together with both marked and unmarked patrol cars and vans parked up on Tucker Road earlier today (Thursday, January 26).

Residents said police attended from around 5pm on Wednesday evening, remaining at the scene overnight.

A spokesman for Thames Valley Police said a 30-year-old had been charged with two counts of possession of an offensive weapon in a private place.

Andrew Cherry, of Tucker Road, Oxford, is due to appear before the city magistrates on February 15.
