Dmytro Kuleba reported that the ways for the USA and other partners to strengthen the support of Ukraine, including military aid, were discussed. “I emphasized the need for Ukraine to receive Western-type tanks. We also discussed further sanctions on Russia. Grateful to the U.S. for standing with Ukraine,” the minister stated.

The US Department of State reported that the continuation of security and economic support of Ukraine in the next few weeks and after the first anniversary of the war was discussed.

“The Secretary emphasized the United States’ enduring and unflinching support for Ukraine, as underscored by recent provisions of advanced air defense equipment and armored vehicles from U.S. stocks,” the Department of State writes.

Background: The Pentagon confirmed that the Ukrainian operators of the Patriot air defence systems will start their training in the USA next week.

At the beginning of January, the USA announced the biggest military aid package for Ukraine of over US$3 billion that will include Bradley armoured infantry vehicle, self-propelled artillery, missiles and hundreds of thousands of shells.
