U.S. men’s national team midfielder Tyler Adams had a goal to remember.

While playing Mexico in the Concacaf Nations League Final Sunday, Adams broke the match open in the 44th minute.

After receiving a pass from midfielder Weston McKennie on the left side of the pitch, Adams launched a deep attempt that hit the back of the net.

Adams had his first start for the U.S. after not playing in over 470 days due to injury.

Adams — who plays for AFC Bournemouth in England, UK — was a nine-time captain of the USMNT nine times before the 2022 FIFA World Cup, according to his USMNT biography.

His first international goal also came against Mexico in the USA’s 1-0 friendly win on Sept. 11, 2018 in Nashville, TN.
