Summarize this content to 100 words Ranvir Shorey is one of the finest actors in the Indian entertainment industry. Shorey has contributed significantly to Indian cinema, starring in critically acclaimed films as well as popular blockbusters. From Khosla Ka Ghosla to Angrezi Medium, his ability to effortlessly transition between different genres—from drama and comedy to thriller—has earned him praise from critics and audiences alike. Beyond films, the actor has also made his mark in television and web series space especially with Vikas Bahl’s Sunflower. As the latest season of the black comedy has finally released, Ranvir opened up about all the positive feedback Sunflower has released. Speaking exclusively with News18 Showsha, Ranvir stated, “It is always great to get positive feedback especially from the audience. And in this case, it’s also a little relief because on social media, there were so many questions about when Season 2 will be out. So more than anything, I am just glad that people have got what they wanted to see. Except now people are asking about Season 3.”Sharing his thoughts on his on-screen rapport with Girish Kulkarni, Ranvir continued, “I met Girish Kulkarni earlier couple of times but it is the first time we’ve worked together so closely. And he is a fabulous actor and he really elevates everyone who is working with him. He has been so supportive and patient since I had to rehearse a lot to perfect the walk and look of my character. And in the series, my character foils the comedy and it’s Girish Sir’s character who infuses comedy in the plot. It’s good to be able to play the foil with such good actors because it is very important for the scene to work with both these things in balance.”Pondering about indelible moments from the sets, Ranvir heaped praises at the director of the show, “I’ve got amazing memories with this show, even from the first season. Vikas Bahl manages to create a very warm, efficient and creative environment for his actors. Whether it’s the lunch break, the shooting, the jokes, the fun we are having, the improvisation we are doing, the discussions we are having, it is such a great experience to work in such a positive and creative environment,” he shared. As for Sunil Grover who plays the pivotal character Sonu, Ranvir said, “I have known Sunil Grover from the time when I was doing the great Indian comedy show and he was just starting at that time. So I think I have known him as a talented person from those days. It is so nice to see him getting his dues and growing as an actor. And frankly, Sunflower might arguably be his best work. Because the kind of complexities and quirks that is required to play Sonu in Sunflower, I don’t think any other actor would have managed what Sunil has done. His talent is truly central to Sunflower.”The actor also quipped about Adah Sharma’s entry into the world of Sunflower, “Adah Sharma has brought some amazing energy into Sunflower. She is like a 100 Watt bulb on the set. She is talented, hardworking and she has added so much to the Sunflower world by her presence. It’s been great working with her actually,” he expressed.Recalling about his cult film Khosla Ka Ghosla, that has completed 20 years, Ranvir shared, “What I want to say about Khosla Ka Ghosla is that it is a gift that keeps on giving. Even 20 years later, so many people whom I meet, the first thing they mention is Khosla Ka Ghosla. I am very grateful for that film because it put me on the map. And I think everybody who was involved with the film feels that way because it’s a very special film and it started the career of so many talented people. And even 20 years later, it’s a film that I am so proud of.”Through his remarkable performances and commitment to challenging roles, Ranvir Shorey continues to be a dynamic and influential figure in the Indian entertainment industry. Talking about doing diverse films and roles, Ranvir commented, “That was always my intention and plan to do as many different roles and films as I can. And that continues even today. Because for me, it is not the genre or character that matters to me. What matters to me is the cinematic merits of the project. How good is the script, how well-written is the part, how good is the director’s vision. These are the things that matter to me the most. Even more than other aspects like whether it’s a positive character, negative character, grey character, language or medium. Good writing and good visual representation of that writing matters to me. The scope to perform with the character matters to me. The emotional graph and emotional centric point of that character is what I focus more upon.”On a concluding note, when the actor was asked about starring alongside the late Irrfan Khan in Angrezi Medium, Ranvir stated, “I worked with Irrfan Khan in at least three films if I am not wrong? It was very sad to hear about his illness. It was very tragic and shocking actually. All I can say is that I am grateful to spend time with him while making Angrezi Medium. He was such a wonderful human being, apart from being a great actor. He had an amazing on-screen presence. I always say this, that Irrfan to me was like a soul. He was like a soul carrying the body.”
